Due to icy conditions, Troop 150 has suspended its tree recycle operations. We will resume operations when conditions allow. We are recycling trees Saturday, January 7th. You will need to have your tree out on the curb by 9:00 AM for Pick up.
We do not believe we will be out on the Sunday, January 8th because of weather conditions.

Oregon Food Bank service project event on the 18th. We will need a head count at 9/14 Scout meeting.
Oregon Food Bank–pallet dismantling project
- Purpose: Dismantle pallets to create wood material to create decor to be used at annual fundraiser
- Date: Sunday, Sept. 18th
- Time: Noon to 4pm (may stay until 5pm, depending on work tasks and group energy
- OK for scouts to come for part of time if absolutely necessary)
- Place: 1870 NW 173rd Ave., Beaverton, OR
Drinks and snacks will be provided, but may want to bring a water bottle. No age restrictions. Parents encouraged to attend and assist. Waiver form will need to be completed by parent for each scout. Waiver form will be available at next Wednesday’s meeting. Clothing: Work gloves required. Work clothes recommended (not uniform).
Tools: Bring a hammer, nail pry bar, and pliers, if you have them. We will be pulling pallets apart and removing nails from them. Please write your name on all personal tools.
Unfortunately we have made the decision to CANCEL this evening’s planned picnic, because the weather is forecasted to be wet and cool. We are very sorry to make this decision on short notice and apologize for any inconvenience this causes.
Instead we will plan to have a family style pot luck dinner and Fall Court of Honor (awards ceremony) on Wednesday October 5th at the church. Please mark your calendars for this event. More details will follow in the coming weeks.

July 8-10 we will have another backpacking opportunity. It is intended as a follow up to BP101 and perhaps as a warm up for Sisters. We will spend 2 nights and 3 days in the lakes West of Ollallie Lake, SE of Estacada. Will walk 3-5 miles each day with fairly modest elevation gains. Leaving Church at 9am Friday July 8th, returning Sunday July 10 around 3-4pm. Trail map: (Green Trails Map # 525 Breitenbush).

This trip is open to all scouts who have completed backpacking 101. (Backpacking 101 will be offered before this trip). However be aware that this is a backpacking trip and proper equipment is essential. This trip is in a wilderness area and the group size is limited to 12. We due not have enough available drivers for the 1:00PM departure. Those Scouts should now plan to arrive at the Church at 6:00PM to join the evening departure group.
Remember to eat dinner before arriving or bring a sack dinner.

Mark your calendar for Aviation Merit Badge Class to be held at the Horizon Air corporate headquarters and hanger, 8070 NE Airtrans Way at the Portland International Airport. To earn the merit badge, Scouts will attend a Friday evening session, May 13th and a career fair on May 14th. Cost is $15.00 per Scout. Each Scout will participate in classroom as well as hands-on activities. Merit Badge Counselors will be available on Saturday.
